The "Ötzidorf" in Umhausen

The spectacular archaeological find of the man in the ice was an absolute sensation. The glacier mummy, who was named "Ötzi" due to his location in the Ötztal mountains, has lead to numerous findings and sparked new reasearch. The "Ötzidorf" (German for "Ötzi's village") in Umhausen at the base of the Stuibenfall waterfall is an open air archaeological museum. Take a walk along the Ötztaler Urweg ("ancient path") and take a journey through the ages, while experiencing life as Ötzi must have experienced it.

Marvel at the replicated huts, hunting equipment, tools and Neolithic crafts. You can also partake in a course in the adventure-survival school.
